scholarship criteria

The winners of the VPC Community Involvement Scholarship will be those students who best demonstrate service to and involvement with their “communities” -- defined broadly as a geographic community, school community, or sports/hobby/activity community. Weight will be given to applicants who have made positive and/or innovative contributions to improve their respective communities. 

 

Eligibility  Requirements

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • A student who will be pursing an undergraduate degree in the summer or fall immediately following the award (both high school seniors and current college students are encouraged to apply)

  • Attending a vocational/technical school, two-year college/university, or four-year college/university

  • Relatives of the selection committee are ineligible (please note that the selection committee will change each year)

  • Prior winners of the scholarship are ineligible

Type of Award:

  • Non-renewable

  • Paid directly to the recipient as a gift to be used for tuition, room and board, or education related expenses

  • Multiple $500 - $1,500 awards; number of awards will vary each year based on fundraising
